Default oil-injection block off

thanks guys. I planned on cutting my plastic and getting new rims. I will have to keep the starter for the convenience factor.

I'd keep the oil injection for convenience before I'd keep the starter for convenience. Oil injection doesn't weigh much and premixing is a pain in the butt. It's funny, but nobody removes injection from their sleds (unless they race) but it seems like many people do on quads. Seems like a step backwards to me.

why is premixing a pain?? it is not bad at all. I feel much safer mixing my own gas especially on a modified motor.

Absolutely, I agree. If the pump quits your sh*t out of luck. Then you get to tear down the whole motor. It only takes an extra minute.

I agree it's a good idea IF you have a heavily modded motor. The pumps just don't quit. Yamaha put them on sleds in the early 70's and I've been sledding since then and I don't know ONE SINGLE person who ever had their oil injection fail. NOT ONE! We rode a couple thousand miles a year and never had a problem. Unless there is something different about the injection pump on the quad from what's on a sled, I don't ever see my pump failing. Premixing is a pain because you have to carry oil with you. Pre-mix you're stuck with one ratio that has to be overly rich to protect under wide open condition. The injector adjusts the ratio so you're only using what oil you need. With injection, you pull into a gas station, fill 'er up and go. No hassle.

I have personally had problems with a polaris injector on my old trailblazer that is why I took it off on my 400.
