If you are talkin about the strut housings,i just did mine.I didn't remove the ball joint.There is no plastic or teflon in there so you will be ok.I just greased the crap out of em when i got them back.The ball joint can be a real pain to remove,that's why i left them in there.

Stupid Honda. If you carefully pry the boots off and flush the grease out of the joint. It takes a while. All they have to do is sandblast and tape off the joint area before coating. Then work grease back in and reinstall the boots. Not to difficult if your careful.

They have a metal ring formed into the end of the boot that fits over a lip on the joint. You have to use something sharp like a putty knife or very thin screwdriver to force between them to separate. Tap with a hammer on the knife and work around in a circle .Dont cut the boot or you will need new ones which might not be available anymore.
