counter balance replacement
#1
My water pump was leaking into my crank case. When I pulled open the water pump I can see
that the water pump shaft is messed up. I did not pull the engine . Can anyone tell me tell me
if I can remove and replace the water pump shaft or is it all one piece or and I need to replace the whole counter balance.
thanks

its been a while since anyone brought up the old counter balance i guess your talking about a 400cc 2-stroke? if so your Probably going to want to do it right that means new bearings pressed onto the counterbalance and new seals on the water pump what kind of shape was your impeller in? your best bet is to get ahold of Rick Ritter he really helped me out when mine was blown also if you need new parts check e-bay...

Yes it is the 400cc 2- stroke. I got the bike some one who had it laying up for some time. When I was removing
the nut for the impeller the water pump shaft unscrewed from the counter balance . Is the pump shaft normaly
threaded into the counter balance or was it some type of rigging job.

Thanks for info. I looked at several part break downs but I could not find a part number for just the water pump shaft. I even called a few polaris dealers and they was not able to help me.
