Default Polaris Trail Boss 330 -- First Impressions...

ThaChad, the Trail Boss probably is just the way she wants it. I have two Trail Blazers. They both accelerate the same and have the same top speed. But I consitantly leave my wife far behind. I just slow down or stop periodically to let her catch up. She goes slow because she wants to go slow, not because the quad is a dog. The same with our sleds. We have two triple-triple 700 Skidoos rated at 130 hp. They have a top end of over 100 mph. My wife has never had hers faster than 60mph. So it isn't the machine, its the way she like to ride. I am just happy my wife likes to ride with me, so I never try to push her past her abilities.

Well said. Some of us don't want all the speed and power. I ride the Boss, my wife rides the Magnum. I wait for her quite often. We just enjoy riding trails together...we don't need all the power in the world.

Larry

PS: I have enjoyed my Boss with very few problems. There are a few things wearing out now, like the tie rods and chain/sprockets. But I'm doing all the work now, and the machine is over 5 years old, so I can't complain. Have done very little to it in 5 years, except good maintenance. Hope your newer model Bosses are as good as mine.

You just gotta keep in mind that the Boss is a beginner quad and is in the 250cc class. I take the Boss out on occasion just to have fun on and put around. It's so light compared to the Sportsman!

My wife has moved up to my old SP 500 for the smoother ride...not the power.

Good luck.

I recently bought a 01 Trailboss for $1750. Runs great! Plenty of power for the Wife and sporty enough for the kids.

Hey bigwannabe. My wife is exactly the opposite. Currently she has the top of the line Skidoo turing sled. Smooth 700cc triple engine, air suspension, no choke DPM carbs. It is a cadillac on the trails. Since she's had her Trailblazer, she wants a new sled that has a 250 cc engine LOL; just like her Trailblazer. She has her mind set on a new 380 fan Rev.
Hey, who am I to tell her what she needs.

I really like my trail boss 330. It was purchased new for my wife...but she never gets out on it. So after sitting in the garage for two years I am going to sell it...and get a KLR650 to take it's spot in the garage. I have nothing but praise for the Trail Boss..if my wife had used it more often I would have been all to happy to keep it for her...but as it is I placed an add in the auto trader yesterday.
