Ok thor, Jeff newman, was my rep. at high lifter and he was fully aware of the xpedition 425 cc 5-speed. He said that they even have one in there riding club. He told me that he knew exactly what I needed when i called and ordered the tires and rims long time ago.

The tie rod boots are listed separately in the Sp500 parts manual. You can check the online parts manual for your bike on the Polaris website. Here is the URL: http://www.polarisindustries.com/pro...ipType=manuals

On the 2000 500SP with 26" Mud Runners I was told by a dealer to order the left side tie rod end and put it on the right side. Because stock has one tie rod on top and one tie rod on the bottom and the one on the right is on top and it will rub the tire. I don't know if it is the same on your machine, but hopefully this will help.

The problem is caused by the right side steering arm that is part of the strut housing. If you take a close look at both right and left struts you will notice that the steering arm on the right one is cast a little offset more than it is on the left strut. This puts the tie rod end closer to the tire and if you put wider tires on, they could rub the tie rod end. I've got 26x9x12 Mudrunners on my Magnum 500 but they do not touch the tie rod end for whatever reason, however I have seen a set of 25x9x12 spider tracs on a magnum 425 that DID touch. I don't have a solution suggestion, I only am aware of the cause.

What about Dura Blue spacers. If I get a front set of 1.5" spacers it would fix the rubbing, but how much stress would it put on the CV's.
If I can find longer studs adding 3 washers between the wheel and hub that would work too, but would the wheel be OK not seated in the little lip on the hub for the wheel?
By the way thanks one and all for the input my dealer is of little help with anything other than stock set up.

When my right tire was rubbing I tried to just invert the rims. They stuck out so far it looked silly. If it were me I would go with the longer bolts. The experienced folks here in these forums told me that 1/4 inch between the tie rod end and the tire is plenty. A few hundred miles later and no problems to declare!
