i agree with elkbow. the extra, dry storage is great on the '05. i used to use rack bags for all my stuff. don't need them on the '05.
BTW, in my area, the '05 is not $1k more then the '04. maybe you should compare different dealers ceojab. maybe the dealer is just jacking-up the price of the '05 to help HIM sell-out of his old product.
