I've got one of those kits with the co2 cartriges I think it was two cartriges to fill a tire I usually keep around ten in a pak just incase you get more than one flat also I'm always riding with somebody that doesn't believe you can get a flat

 

Going from a flat tire. It takes about 2 CO2 cartradgs to fill the tire up. You can get enough air to ride it with 1, but I like a little more pressure in mine

 

I agree..I have one of the devices I bought a while ago that uses 12 gram co2's. Takes 2 from a dead from bein dead flat to get it to good riding pressure.

 

Are the 12 grams threaded, or do they just puncture the foil on the top? Because the kind we use for paintball are not threaded, and you can buy them in bulk for pretty cheap. If they are the same, they are probably cheaper than the tire kit ones.
Couldnt you use a couple adapters to make your own thing that would go from the 12 grams to the tire valve?

 

The CO2 inflater that I have from Genuine Inovations (JCWhitney) can use threaded and non-threaded 12g or 16g cardtradges

The 16g is a bigger cardtradge. The 12g are what most CO2 pellet guns use. You can get them in bulk for fairly cheap.

 

12 grams are on paintballgear.com for .69 each or discounts for bulk. I am sure they can be found cheaper elsewhere, but i have dealt with this reliable site many times before. Note these are unthreaded 12g cartridges: clicky
