My wife 5'2" 120lb and I just went on a 200 mile ride. We are both ATV newbies but love the sport. I own 500 SP and borrowed a friends 400 explorer for her to try before we bought one. She said she liked the explorer but preferred my 500SP. She really noticed the better ride with my SP. She told me to buy a new 2001 500SP and she would take over mine. What could I say but, OK.

After my wife rode my 99 Scrambler 500 she didn't like her Lakota anymore. Now we both ride the Scrams. She likes that she is always in the right gear, has AWD, plenty of power, sporty looks, and she knows her ride cost just as much as mine. I like that I have a whole set of spare parts on hand for my ride. Right.

Seeing that this is a polaris forum im shure that you probubly are not intrested in a Yamaha. But my wife rides a Y2K Kodiak 4x4 and loves it. It is fairly light and has good power. The EBS on it works great and it is seemingly small compared to the Polaris modles. The suspension is adjustable so for my wife (110 lbs) the softest setting provides a nice soft ride. The range selector requires no effort to use. She can ride it all day and it uses almost no gas. All the plastic pannels keep any heat off her and yet they all remove easy for any service. If you ride any quad and then hop on a Kodiak you would almost swear the thing has power steering it is super light.
Like most quads now days it has been trouble free.
The best way to get one for her is to let her pick one out. Good luck

My wife rides a 1991 Polaris Trailboss 250cc. This
is a two stroke motor with plenty of zip. She has not ridden much else other than my Sport 400L so she really has little to compare to.

She does really enjoy her Trailboss, it has proven very reliable and the power delivery is just right for her, it has even gotten her in trouble a time or two when she was going to fast.

My wife rides a 325 Magnum 4X2 we also test drove the Trail Boss 325. The Magnum had a better feel to its handleing. The 4X4's seemed to stear to heavy even in 2X for her. I ride the Y2K Silver SP 500.
