Sportsman 700 w/ no power (help!!!!!!)
HI there, I have a 04.5 sp 600 twin. The first time i rode mine through light amounts of water the same thing happened to me. At first i couldnt even get it to start up, then after about a half hour of screwing with it i got it to run but i didnt want to stay running. I would get cruising and then bam it would just die again and again. Ive had the machine for three months now and it seems to be allergic to water. I finally got disgusted and brought it to the dealer. They think it is the stator. its been there for a week now and i still havent heard from them. I had friends of mine who are much more mechanically inclined then me check out the whole fuel system, carb, spark plugs, tank, etc and all seemed ok. I 'll let you know what news i might have as soon as i hear from the dealer. Hope that could be a help.

Well guys, it took cleaning the carb. completely-to fix it. I went ahead and rejetted while in there-One size bigger and up one on the needle- getting alot better performance. The dealer told me all the 600/700's come of the line runnin really lean to comply with regulations, so if you want the most performance from your machine-rejet. Thanks for all the help and input, its greatly appreciated!
