Default Shifting problems on a 2004 700 efi

Hello there, i left the quad outside last night and it got down to 5 or so and i went to put it up today and when i parked it i went to shift to park and i couldn't get it out of high range, i let it run for a while and it still wouldn't shift so i just shut it off. I was also wondering about any mods that are out there for it. Any help would be apperciated.

the only way that 'temperature' could cause a problem is if you had water somewhere.....not likely though.....can you bring it inside and let it get warmer or even run it longer....there is something else that has to be causing it not to come out of high gear like a problem with your linkage, etc....

Well yes and no, it still does it but after i ride for a while(warms up) it will start shifting, plus its been snowing so you know i hafta be playing in it. but i don't know what would really cause it other than water being in it and i haven't been through any water for a while so who knows, and i think the front gearbox is shot cause when i have the thumb switch to off it still wants to kick four wheel drive into action just like if it was on, either that or the switch or wires are shorted out somewhere. too cold to really tear into it, plus no heat in the shop yet. Have any of you incountered this problem?
