on the weekend i installed a hose clamp on the bottom of each strut on my 04 500.the are the heaviest that i could find, they are 3/4'' wide.i didnt think it would be enough to make a difference but they worked great.all i had to do is pry the spring up with a bar,and it was alot easier then screwing with taking the springs off.any questions give me a shout

sorry fellas no pic,if you decide to do it make sure the washer on the bottom of the strut sits on top of the clamp,i was going to put a spacer in there instead but that looked like way too much work.there was a post on here that said you could losen the strut housing and slip the shock up to the top alowing the spring to come out the bottom?wouldnt go up high enough to clear the housing,so me and my buddy thought about it over a cold beverage and came up with the clamp idea.

Can't see a hose clamp either, won,t the spring slide over the clamp after a few bumps??
I installed hockey pucks on my 04.5 700EFi and they work fantastic.

Aren't the rubber helper pucks from Polaris any good? I got them for my 04.5 500H.O. when I bought my Glacier plow (dealers advice) but I never put them in cause it doesn't seem to sag when I lift the plow.
Also if anyone has used these, can you run them in the summer? Any advantages?

I have a hard time picturing a hose clamp also....when you ride, the movement of the suspension will cause the hose clamp to move....it sounds like you are saying you centered it under the spacer, if you tightening it, eventually you will wear the spacer, etc.....

the correct way is to build a spacer.....the adjuster for the Progressive Suspension springs would also be a nice way to be able to adjust the tension...

I installed them under the springs, leaving the metal ring that is already there on top of the puck, you have to drill a approx. 21/8" hole in the center of the puck, remove the spring and slide it over the shock and replace the spring. I also used some 2" vaccum pipe about an inch and a half long, cut down the side to fit around the shock, so the spring would rub on the shock. Can send pic's if you like.
