The $1400 savings is only good if you plan on keeping it stock. Once you add to the KQ what the 800 comes stock with, your savings are gone and you still have a slower quad. My 800 handles much better then the KQ and I feel more confident on the 800 too. It's easy to bottom out the suspension on the KQ in which with 8.2" of travel the 800 hasn't bottomed out yet. The biggest thing I like about my 800 over the KQ is the fun factor. The 800 was just more fun to ride and race.

I know what you mean spoRtRax450R. I don't go by my Trailblazers towing capacity of 850 lbs. (My 250 has the same tow capacity as a Foreman 450?) Oh well, I regularly move my dual jet ski trailer with jetskis. It weighs about 1500 lbs. I guess the 800 should easily be good for 3000 lbs eh?

Oh, my mistake I thought you said it's not what it's hyped up to be. Everything Polaris said about the quad is 100% true. The only silly thing I herd someone say ( on the net) was it would do a wheelie at 40mph....It can't. The racks can hold objects of any shape just as any other quad. As far as the price, I like the better wheels, tires, storage, lights, & the extra cc's you get for the extra $$.....It's not $1500 more, I bought mine at Country Sports in Wisconsin Rapids, Wi. and paid 8,200 otd. If money was a problem I would have settled for a 660 Grizz, I like that quad. I'm not a "Polaris guy" but I couldn't ignore the all around superior performance of the Polaris Quads in the Swamps, water, & mud in central Wisconsin, I have seen all the other Quads, while there all good, Polaris stood out, that's why I bought one.

I own a new King Quad and agree its a fine machine. But to put it in the same utility class as either the 700EFI or 800EFI Sportsman is simply wrong. The King lacks adequate skid plate protection, A arm protection, etc. And the tires simply suck for anything other than trail riding. Seeing I can buy a new 800 for 7700 OTD I also am unaware of any dealer offering new King Quads out the door for 6300. Besides....there is no way the KQ is as fast as the 800 if that is what is important to you.

For the money I'd stick with the 700 EFI, I rode them both and there wasn't a big difference. Put a set of duals on if you like the sound.

I don't know where you tried them, but I tried a 700efi before the 800 and the low end throttle response and take off was much better on the 800 over the 700. I didn't try any drags, but with the 800 lifting the front with ease and the 700 needed a good yank was my deciding factor. Duals and cast wheels didn't hurt either.

All this banter is great, but let's return to the subject. Is the SP800 a beast? It seems that the SP800 people are skirting around the issue, not as bad as the KQ guys do but in my opinion they still are. Can it stay with a BF? I wanna know because I love the way the SP800 looks and I love the wheels and the storage. But I don't want to buy one if it's like the KQ, SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I bought my KQ, I posed the same question to KQ owners and they would make statements like, "it's fast enough for me" and "buy a sport quad if you're interested in drags" or "it handles great" blah Blah BLAH!!!!!! Yeah great, but some people, like me, want a 4x4 that wheelies and runs like a sport quad, they want the fastest utility quad available because anything less is just that. So, let me ask the tough question, will the SP800 stay with a BF in a drag? Or a P700?
