Default Gear and transmission Fluids

I am going to change the front and rear gear case fluids and the transmission fluid, other then the Polaris synthetics what can I use. Walmart and the auto parts store are closer then the Polaris dealer. This is for the SP 400. Thanks for the help. BART

In the sportsmans Tranny and Differentials it's recommended not to use anything other than Polaris Oils. I would suggest driving to the dealer and not worry about the extra mileage to the dealer. I'd rather do that than chance using another oil.

If your SP400 has the hillard clutches in the front hubs instead of intergrated in the front gearcase (which I believe is the case), then the front gearcase would take any syn. 80W-90 gear oil. I believe that the same would be true for the rear gearcase as long as it is not intergrated into the transmission like the newer ones. In the transmission you can use Amsoil Series 2000 chaincase lube
