Top Speed of Predator
#11
the raptor was ahead until 5th, with them both topping out at 30 in first, 46.7 in second on the raptor and 36.6 on the predator, 59 in third on the raptor and 45 in third on the predator, 68 on the raptor in 4th and 55 on the predator, so i think 5th gear is where the predator caught up

yeah all those high performance quads go faster on pavement, a friend of mine has a stock YFZ and it went 78, he took it through one of those speed guns on the road saying how fast your goin, the numbers were in red

according to my trail tech if its set right, it went 71.6 and wouldnt hit the rev limiter in 5th, with the mods in my profile the trail tech said 96?? hitting the rev limiter in 5th. sounds high though.

I havent read that part, i havent even ready the whole article but i am just goin by what it is showin the speeds are in the gears and i dunno how a predator can outrun a raptor up till 4th gear when it is sayin the predator was 13mph slower in 4th gear.

answer for top speed is 75.75mph with a 2.792 primary drive and 9000 rev limit....that's using numbers out of the service manual book!!!
but now lets say you spent 175 on a diff sprocket and rev box so you goto a 15t front sprocket and 10000 rev limit and puts you topping out at 90.18 for 175.00
this is info based off a gearing/speed calculator and all gear ratios are based on a 03 modle!!!

Why would i put a 15 front sprocket?? you want less power for top speed?
Correct me if im wrong cuz i don't know much about this...
I rode the 03 model and it felt much slower then a rappy and a ds anyway....

this thread was about top speed so that's what i posted......of course with out a built motor you would not be able to reach the top speed with a 15t sprocket......most people drop to a 13t which would put you around 70 mph but you would get there quicker and with a rev box and the 13t you're back to 78mph
i can get alot of ds's off the jump out of the hole but if you make one mistake they're all over your A$$!!!! in my opinion ds's are more competition for my than raptors!!! man they are quick!
