Removing the Air box lid?
#1
I can't decide on weither or not to remove my air box lid on my trail blazer for the K&N. I don't plan on rejeting it , and pretty much what i'm trying to say is will i have to rejet if i take my air box lid off?

you will most likely have to rejet to get optimum performance if you remove your air box lid....it increases the airflow and you will run lean if you do not rejet....i don't have your machine, so probably someone else here can chime in...

First thing first. I see that you have some mods. What jet are you running now? You may or may not have to rejet depending on what size you are running now. Are you puting in a drop in filter or clamp on filter? Do you drive in any water?

I'm not quit sure what the jetting is, it was all done by the previous owner along with the pipe and clutch. Most of the trails around my area have water so yes i will be driving in water, and i'm not sure what you mean by a drop in filter or a clamp on filter. But i'm guessing it is a clamp on. The thing is i know how to rejet i just don't like i guess you could say i'm lazy about it. Is it something that i can adjust the fuel mixture screw or the air screw?

A drop in airfilter you still use the stock airbox just like the stock filter except it is a K&N. A clamp on filter yuo would remove the airbox and kust clamp the K&N right to the carb. Most likely if you still use the airbox and lid you wont have to rejet but it would really be helpful to know what jet is in it now. You do not want to run lean expecially when it is cold out. I am also in Pennsylvania so you usually want to run a little rich when cold. It is not hard at all to take the carb out.
