I received a letter from Polaris the other day regarding my 2004 700 EFI I recently purchased. In essence it was giving me 6 more months of warranty coverage for free. Thats what the letter and certificate said anyway.

Has anyone else received something like this from polaris? After reading it...it sounding like a marketing gimmick as the exclusionary list of items not covered was about a page long. But for free I suppose its better than nothing.

Any comments would be appreciated.

 

tdelong, yes Polaris offered a "Free" extended warranty during the months of Nov & Dec of last year. It's not an extension of the normal 6 month warranty... it's a free 6 month extended warranty, which means it doesn't cover all the same goodies that the normal warranty does. It looks to be the same as the extended warranty you can purchase from them in that it covers limited parts, and it has a deductable that applies. Excellent...thanks for explaining. Rarely in life do I get something for nothing. Its nice to know that I am not totally out of warranty at the end of 6 months...but boy looking at the exclusions list it seems pretty easy for Polaris to wiggle out of a covered repair based on the contract language.

My SP 700 EFI has been running great (got over 200 miles on it now) and hopefully it will continue that way.
