Default Belt Prep

I just recieved my Dayco HP2002 belt for my 500 HO, I noticed that the belt has a bit of that silicon spray that makes rubber look nice for packaging. I don't feel that stuff should be on a friction item, so I want to remove it. I think brake clean is the best, I don't beleive it harms rubber, I am not too sure about acetone or paint thinner.
Does anyone have any recommendations that will not harm the rubber in the belt, and as well as any tips for changing the belts

Thanks

Clean it with hot soapy water and a stiff brush. This goes for ANY new belt, even the Polaris ones.

Thanks guys for the help, I'm sure that silicon spray would really screw up the belt grip, probably the reason some people keep cooking their belts.
