The PC for the 800 is out first because of a forum member who know's the guy at Dynojet. The guy has a 800 and brought it to Dynojet so they can get the map. If he didn't do that, we all would be still waiting.

I would like more information about the Power Commander, like the background of how it works, what it does and is it something that I would want. Sorry, but I'm new to this forum and I have NOT heard anything about the Power Commander. The dealer told me that the air filter is the only thing I could do to increase the performance. Any input would be helpfull.

One of our members did a full article on the Power Commander for the 2004 EFI, some improvement, but not alot. On the 2005 models since many things were changed it is supposed to be more of an improvement, but only time will tell....I'll get one when the 700 EFI model comes out for the 2005 and do a article on it....

Hey dfoster. Basically the idea behind the power commander is that it allows you to changed the fuel mapping and ignition timing. The reason is that when you modify the engine, such as adding a pipe, cam, ect, you can provide more fuel where appropriate to compensate for a better breathing engine. It may make no improvement for a stock engine because presumably the manufacturer already has good timing and fuel maps. It basically lets you tweek the EFI like you can tweek carbs. It is just a little easier.
I hope thie helps you

Thanks for the input. Does any of this mess with the factory warranty? It looks like I will get the K&N air filter, a power commander kit and the exhaust set when availability, depends on the answer about the warranty.

I could be wrong, but i don't think the power commander on the EFI bikes makes the timing adjustable. I have called dynojet and they said they would have one coming out but didn't know when. That is the main reason I wanted one but I'm holding off until it comes out.
