Default Help needed to install Brush Guard 2004.05 SP 500

I recently just baught the Brush Guard for my SP 500.
I am following the directions and stuck on step 1. it says that i need to remove the cover of the radiator.
i took out all the screws Iit says however that cover will not come off.
Has anyone had this problem before?
I tried prying it off with a screw driver, pulling it nothing seems to work.

Please let me know.

Thanks
Eddie

Eddie,
I don't have a 2004, I have a 2005, but on the 2005, when it says to remove the cover, it means the side cover,,,not really a cover, but the bolts....Polaris has poor installation instructions....Look at the mounts on your brushguard and see where it would bolt up to the machine,,,,mine has two or 3 bolts on each side, thats where they are talking about...you don't have to remove the actual radiator grill/guard....I think I have a pic of mine, i'll post with it...

ok, found it, notice the bolts on the side, I had to remove their plastic quick connects that were in the holes:

2005 brushguard

now I could be wrong on the 04 machine, but I believe it also mounts on the sides...you have to look at your brushguard mounts and see how it will fit up against the machine, will tell you what needs to be done

On the 2004 you need to remove the cover in teh front inorder to put the bolts on.
this is where I am stuck. If I could get that front cover off I would have no problems doign anything else.

ah, now I remember....the 2005 says the same thing....I loosened the cover and then got my fingers in there to put the nuts on, but I'm not sure I needed to, I think I reached my fingers in from the back somewhere....

if the '04 is like the '05 mount, there is two grills, the first one, outer one, has 4 screws and then it has some rubber mounts that stick through the second one, they're a pain in the butt to pull off and put back on....don't remember on the second one....

If it's like my 600 you just need to pull/pop the little plastic radiator cover off. The plastic screen with wire mesh behind it. It should just pull off no tools needed.

Good Luck, Jeff
