The Scrambler is a great quad, great in the trails. I trail ride more then anything, if you get the Predator, you will need to get some new back tires.....the stock Maxxis suck in the mud. You need to think you want out of the quad. They are both a good choice.

I agree. If you mainly ride trails I think the Scrambler would be better for most people. But, if you plan on hittin jumps, racing, etc. then the Predator is the better choice. Don't think of it as a decision between the two quads, but think of it as determining what type of riding you do or will be doing. Once that is determined then you can find the quad appropriate for you.

I've got a Scrambler 400 4X4.
It's perfect for trails, climbes like a scared cat, eats mud better than anything else i've seen (I mean mudholes where the thing floats through for yards at a time), has power to pull wheelies at will, jumps without too much work (I'm sure nothing like a Predator, but it will jump), all in all, it's a great machine for whatever you throw at it.
I would also agree with the point of figure out what you want it to do. The Scrammy is a great compromise bike. Not a great sport bike, but a ton of fun.
