Default Carb update

Guys, I apoligize for bringing up and old topic, but I tried to do a search with no sucess. My co worker has an 04 600 sportsman, and he says he has to run it with the choke out to keep it going. I know there was some talk about a cold start update for these machines. Is it true there is an update, and are the dealerships fixing these problems at no cost to the owners. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Thanks Hosportsman

Yes there is an update and the dealer will do it for free, at least he's supposed to.
