Sportsman 400......425?? also the Diesel
#1
I just got a Pro Polaris magazine today and it talked about the new Sportsman 400. It says it uses the 425 motor. Why in the world would Polaris call it a 400 when it's a 425? Wouldn't a Sportsman 425 sound better to a buyer than Sportsman 400?
I also noticed they talked about the 2001 Diesel. I thought I read somewhere that they was going to discontinue the diesel after 2000. Maybe they are selling better than everybody thinks?

My opinion is that calling it a 425 would start making it sound too darn close to a 500. For us knowledgable people, we relize there is a huge differance between the 425 and 500 HO. To the average person that does not do theire research as we do, they may question the extra expense for 75 cc's. Calling it a 400 gives the two more class seperation by name Just my thoughts.
