Jeff, if you look on the left side of your cylinder head, you will see a sensor sticking out of it. It is your temp sensor that turns on the "hot" light. My gauge replaces that sensor. It comes with a few different fittings. Find the one that fits the hole and replace the sensor with the fitting and cable (the gauge is cable operated). Thats all you have to do. Then just route the cable and mount the gauge. They are backlit and I have mine wired into my headlight circuit. I also sealed it up a little with some silicone. Sometimes it does fog up some, not to bad though. I also have an oil pressure gauge and voltmeter hooked up (see my pics)

Those fittings that go in the head must be standard sizes. I imagine that it screws in. Should I use teflon tape on it? I think I'll pick one up tomorrow. Any other things I need to know?

Thanks for all the help bbs.

Yeah, they are standard size and screw in. If I remember correctly, I had to use an adapter and then screw the cable fitting into the adapter. The gauge will come with an assortment of fittings. And yes, use some teflon tape on it. I actually used that Teflon sealant myself. Few thinks to remember when installing it: 1) it is an aluminum head, so BE CAREFUL when tightening the fittings. and 2) Mount the gauge and route the cable where you want it BEFORE you attach it to the fitting in the head. The cable does not unscrew from the gauge. I learned that the hard way. LOL

Either that or 2". I dont remember off hand. The ones that I got are the Sunpro Triple Gauge set that you can find at any autoparts store. It came with a mount that I modified a little and made it work quite well

Maybe polaris will offer that in ATV's in the future. My Fusion has the engine temp, a digital clock, max rpm, max mph, with the ability to add outside temp, an altimeter.

I like the twin guages but they are a bit big to be mounted on the pod and the trim rings should have been sprayed black to match the bezel ring.

I don't understand where he put the the oil temp probe? And it looks like an mech guage for oil ... that seams alittle harder to do than electric?
