Yes, in Minnesota there are postings on state trails limiting the CC, must be under 800 and the weight I'm guessing here but I think it's around 700 lbs for ATV's/Sleds. I remember that my 800 was just over the weight restriction.

if thats true, it makes the sportsman 800 illegal as it makes 62.something at the crank.

Spyder6,you got Jimmy and I confused on what we said about the horsepower and cc limit. I said I don't think there is a limit on horsepower.

Some Dealers have even found a bad coil in a machine still sitting on the showroom floor. I am guessing that there was a batch of defective coils that got assembled into the machine or in the thousands of coils that that get used for these machines you are bound to have a few defective ones.
Have any other models have any bad coils in them, especialy the 700 efi, or is it just in the 800efi

My buddy had a misfire on his 700 when we were out riding one day. He'd get on the throttle and the thing was sputtering and way down on power. We checked the air filter thinking it sucked up some water from a mudhole, and checked all the obvious stuff--still ran like crap. Then I took a look at the coil, thinking one of the primary wires were either loose or wet. It was the secondary (plug) wire! It wasn't even plugged in to the coil! It was such a bitch to get back on that I have no idea how it could have came off. The bracket for the coil has a 90 degree bend right where the wire plugs in (keeping the plugs on and dirt out), so I bet it was probably like that when he bought it.

After some swearing, I got it plugged back in, but it was already wet inside and you could hear it arcing to the coil and frame. The next weekend, before we went riding, I suggested that he go to an autoparts store and grab a tube of dielectric grease and smear it inside the boot.

Problem solved.

Dusk and Dawn maybe? Lol. I agree with ya on that one Elkbow
