done it. wats da deal with the compression? i have maybe 40 hours on my engine. the only thing i could figure is that my rings are chiped. a couple of months ago my studs that connect the jug to the case broke. i tore everything down, installed a girdle kit and a case saver. im wondering if i over looked my rings.

It is very likely that you are running too lean at start up. You might want to drop the needle clip to richen it up. It needs way more fuel to start in colder weather. You are clost to me so weather is about the same. My moded 250 would not start right away in the colder weather unless I change the clip position.
