I used to have a highly moded 250 that had 42hp at the crank as opposed to the stock 22hp. It would beat stock and lightly moded 400's. Rick would be your best bet because he can set you up with a kit that will work for you. HPD has a trail pipe that is pretty mean. Rick also sells HPD ptroducts. There are tons and tons of mods that you can do to the 250 to make it very quick. I think right now with a reed conversion stroker motor they are getting somwhere around 55hp at the crank. They are beating Banshees. Yes Banshees! But if you want cheap and reliable get the kit from Rick. He sells a complete kit for 325 with free shipping.

Aside from the best price, you'll get the best service from Rick too. Be sure to call him, not email. He gets too busy to read all the emails, but he's great at getting the phone.

That kit for $325 sounds like a good deal to me. Which leads me to a couple more questions:

1) Is it turnkey? EVERYTHING I need is in the kit and I'm done?

2) Is it easy for a newbie with little to moderate mechanical skills to install?

3) Am I going to be waking up the dead with the new kit with the added noise?

I really appreciate all the help from everyone!

1) yes everything is there in the kit, pipe, silencer, jets, airbox mod, and clutch spring.

2) Anyone that can turn a wrench , read and can make a phone call to rick can install it.

3) With the supplied silencer in the kit you will probably wake up some dead people but he does have a quiet silencer, it is a little more money.

4) Anyone here that has the kit can tell you it is well worth the money

5) Good luck!!!
