Default More top speed on sp twins

MVD62, what atv have u got. It will not work as efficiently up there. my elevation is 900-1300feet, ur atv will not make quite the same HP at the highter elevation, but let me know what u got and I may be able to get ya rippin.

Ihave had problems with this 05 700efi, It will not run over 50mph, boggs for about 15 to 20 ft and then takes off. I love the machine but the dealer thats the best they can do. Ilove the new ride over the old ones. cant wait for spring to get here.

MVD does it bog at about 50 then get gong agin and top out at about 60- 65, or bog and stay at 50 .

i just got a k&n ,and we are about 1500 feet,any ideas?

BUBS, u got an 04 500 correct. U may try this. Go with a White Bros Can or Pure Polaris Can, get a WHITE Hot seat primary spring, or a Plain Polaris spring pn#7041021. Try 10/54 weights. leave the secondary alone for now. heres a small trick, when u get the cover off the clutch to change the spring, there is a nylon nut in there over the center shaft, take it out and shave 3/16 of an inch off the base end of it. This will allow the primary to close more on a full shift and attempt to send the clutches into an overdrive. If the atv runs well enough, it will make the power to full shift and get more top speed out of it.

AS for carberation, u may go down 2 sizes on the main jet, drop the needle dow 1 clip position, and if u got, get about 1 gallon of VP110 race fuel to 2 gallons supreme pump gas to make sure ur getting the full pull. ALSO the VP smells great. I run it in everything, even the lawnmower ha ha.............

youll have to feel it out and may have to get back to the weights and shave them to make sure the max rpm is proper to the atvs specs. good luck partner. HEY by the way, never be back of the pack.

ok, get a WHIT E polaris spring PN#7041132 in the primary, got to 2 grams heavier weights and try that. IF it stays the same but seems to pull alot harder up to the 50 mph, then leave that in there and get a bit lighter secondary spring in it. I will investgate what to try for a lighter secondary spring tomorrow at work for ya and will let u know tomorrow. Try the primary work first and see. Good luck bud

Hey rmkcac700,I have an 05 700 efi like u and lookin for more power/speed.Whattya recommend?
I have a K@N and a pure polaris pipe but not yet installed.Any info would be greatly appriciated !!

Hey rmkcac700, I would like to try your clutch setup on my 02 sp700...I already have the white bros and k&n so I'll remove my airboxlid...now you say you did this on an 04.5 but I will need a different jetting setup because I have an 02, right??? Doesn't mine have different jetting than an 04.5?? Could you give me a jetting setup? main jet and needle position. Was that a 50/34 helix? silver primary and orange hot seat secondary and 10-58 weights? Also I'm a heavier rider, will it still work? Thanks so much, I've got a pesky neighbor with a new grizzly that beating me!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]
