Default Tranny Whine 700 Sportsman EFI

My buddy just picked up a 700 EFI, test drove it, and notices that in High, it whined quite a bit when letting off the throttle. I have the same bike, but never noticed that. He tried another 700 and it didn't have that sound. The dealer says that its because the first bike has .7 hours on it and it was the EBS/belt making that noise and it should go away, and that the second bike didn't do that because it was "broke in" (more hours).... does this sound right? will it stop whining? Thanks...
