Hi all I just bought a 1996 Sport 400. It runs great but not as fast as I would like. What upgrades would any of you other owners suggest? And what kind of power increase will it give. I am thinking about regearing what would you suggest? I know lots of ?'s but I am new to this.

New Ulm I see we are not far from each other. I just got back from Mankato was looking for front tires, no luck. Going to call SXS in the morning and see if Chad has any in stock.

Does anyone run other than stock size tires on there sport/scrambler? Looking for tires for the front and there arn't many 23X7 10's out there. What would be a good alternative?

yeah i didnt like my stockers to much..my holeshots were a night and day difference when i got them..cept i had no tread left on my stockers so thats why it felt so great with thembut i would recommend the holeshot XC's, im running 22's in the rear and 23's in the front and i love them, great all around tire to..u might wanna check into the kenda bear claws as well, they make a great tire for all conditions to

also dont think having a bigger tire will slow down your acceleration aspect of the machine, one inch bigger in teh front and back didnt affect it at all, in fact i had more acceleration and maybe 1 mph top end increase

I don't know what you want to spend. Look into a power kit from HPD or hot seat performance. the have packages that include pipe, jets, k&n filter, and clutch kit. From what i've read, tuning your clutch is one of the best performance mods. I've got a scrambler 500 and soon to have a agressive clutch kit in it.
But check out those power packages, they seem reasonable after you add up the individual parts seperate.
