Traveled to Ocala National Forest for shakedown of new 500 HO. I have nothing to compare this to but here goes:

#1 More than enough power for this Ole man

#2 Very comfortable ride on some very rough trails. Well balanced.

#3 Averaged speed from 10mph to 35 mph total time 3 running hrs.....34 miles

#4 I HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!


The one thing that really surprized me was the gearing. When you take your thumb off the gas it's like putting the brake on.

Guess where I am going tomorrow?????

 

I have a 04.5 sportsman HO and would like to hear from someone who has rode 04 and 05 and give a comparrison. I'm waiting for the 06 to see if it will be efi.

 

I just read somewhere the 06 will have EFI. I didn't want to wait.

I wouldn't mind riding in Florida. I lived in Daytona Beach for 8 years, but didn't own an ATV then. I can think of some fun places to ride.

Sounds like you had a good time. So while the rest of us are going to work tomorrow, you're going riding? Somehow that doesn't seems fair.

Its going to be 70 degrees here tomorrow, maybe I should call in sick...lol...
