what is the width of a reed spacer? also question about 400 scrambler coil.
I have thought of getting a reed spacer for my 400 scrambler. I have a friend that recently aquired some new tools and before the novelty wears off he was willing to try and make me a reed spacer. I don;t know how thinck they should be though. 1/4 inch 1/2 inch what?
Also does anyone with a service manual know the power output of the stock coil, it seems alot of people complain about week spark on the 400's and aftermarket motorcycle coils are pretty cheap. I have seen some performance coils for as low as 18.99 seems worth a try for the price. I know HPD has akiller ignition upgrade but it seems to be alot more power then I need.

conig, my reed spacer is 3/8", tried one at 1/4", but felt the 3/8 was a little better. if ya got the means to make a couple, maybe try some different ones to see what works best. i'm sure he wouldn't mind playing around with the new tools
dont have the manual in front of me but will try to find out on the coil
