Seat Problem on 2004 Trail Boss
#1
Hi,
I just bought a 2004 Trail Boss last week. I am having problems with the seat. It moves a lot. The front is loose and I can easily stick my fingers under the seat. We took it back to the dealer. They tried a new seat with the same result. They said they'd get back to me. Did anyone else have this problem. If you look under the seat, is there a cone shaped piece that comes down in the rear middle? The Magnum has that and there is a hole for that under the Trail Boss; we are wondering if we have the right seat or what. It really wiggles a lot. Thanks for helping if you can. Foniks

Very Funny.....that is exactly what my husband said. He has a Honda. We tried over and over to put the seat on. The dealer tried over and over too. It just plain wiggles a good inch or more.

Did you put the front of the seat in and then push down on the back till it snaps in? If you have the seat on can you just lift up on it and it will come off? Mine hav little movment but not alot. If you sit on it you should be able to fit your fingers in between the seat and the plastic. You dont really want the seat to rub the plastic because it will rub a hole in the seat cover where it rubs the plastic. The magnum and Trailboss have the same exact plastic and seat. So they should fit the same.

Hi 2manytoys (buy the way I loved the pictures of your Trail Boss) We do have the back snapped in but the play is in the front. The Polaris dealer said the seat is NOT the same as the Magnum and IS the same as th ATP. ???
He brought out a seat from a Magnum that didn't fit. The dealer tried many times to get the seat to stay. In their words it "really moves a lot".
I am wondering if you could take off your seat and look at something. On my trail boss right under that brass bar where the seat locks in is a small plastic circle. Is there a cone shaped piece in the rear middle back of your seat that fits into that circle? The Magnum seat has that cone, but mine doesn't. We are wondering if our seat is missing that and that is why it is so wobbley (a new word). lol

Hi foniks, Our seat on our trailboss was loose when I bought it too... I noticed that it didn't have the rubber pads on the bottom where it touches the frame lke the seat on my '03 sp600 had. And the seat wasn't touching the fram in those spots where it should... Instead it was bottoming out on the side panels and the front fendor plastic. I adjusted the front fender plastic lower, then added some rubber
stick on pads (from the hardware store) to the bottom of the seat, and now it fits securely, and doesn't force the side panels out of place. I must say, the fit and finish of my '05 sp700efi is much much better than the older ones we own!
