Default Lube????

I know you guys have probably seen this question before but since I am relatively new here I would like to find out what you guys use. I am greasing, etc, my 01 Exp 400 4x4. Polaris brand lubes are very expensive I find. What do you use instead of Polaris hub lube, Polaris gearcase lube and coolant (my guess here is you mix your own to 60/40). Thanks BL

Barry, on my Pred I use the Polaris "ultra goey" purple grease. It's a bit more, but it really does the job. In the past, I've also had great luck with the teflon equipped One grease you find at Wal-Mart.....yes, Wal-Mart.

right now I think I'm using a Kendall grease that's blue and it's not a big deal what you use for engine coolant as long as it's the same type, ya know how there's the red stuff and the grean stuff. As far as the hub and gear lubes I would stick to Polaris, especially the hub fluid, it's worth the extra bucks.

No more than you have to change fluids I would stay with the Polaris stufff. That is how I do it.In an emergancy you can use atf fluid in your hubs.As for grease I use a marine/water resistant type of grease.Be sure you dont forget the 10w30 oil in your counterbalance.

Ah, counter balance. That's another question. What is the easiest way to check it. I can't reach down there. Thanks for this answer and the others guys. BL

Just drain it and change it.I use a long screwdriver and a funnel with a small hose on it.Pour in th ecorrect amount(dont worry if you get a little too much it will go out the vent)
