Now with the average wench weighing in at between 100 and 150 lbs there is no way they will fit in between your brush guard.....She could either ride on the front or rear rack or just let her sit behind you on the seat[She would like the seat better I 'm sure] . If you were talking about a winch and the scrambler is like a sportsman , then there should be a spot behind the guard for it ....but Im not sure on the Scrambler....someone here will know...

The more powerful the winch, the bigger it is, so part of the answer is in what winch you are looking at. They make a front brush guard that has parallel tubes, not coming together toward the front like the stocker, that is specifically designed for a winch to be mounted on top. I see them on ebay often, but to be blunt, they aren't pretty! I suspect you could get a 1500 or 2000 lb. winch inside between the radiator and stock brush guard. If you needed just an inch or so, you can extend the top guard mount. You can look at my pics page and see how I did this on a DG bumper. A Scrambler isn't as heavy as a utility quad so a smaller winch will work fine. I have a 2000 lb. on mine and it will easily pick the whole thing off the ground.

Watch for one thing however, no matter how you mount your winch - Scramblers have a less potent charging system than a utility quad, so at idle speed it won't deliver enough power for the winch and it will kill the battery if you use the winch for a long time. And even if it doesn't kill it, it will at least lose winch strength due to low battery power. I considered a bigger battery but the stock battery box is welded on. I finally decided to add a second battery wired in parrallel (don't do series, that's 24 volts!!) and it works great.

That's all well and good but you'll never get a winch to sleep with you after you buy it dinner But then again good luck getting your wench to drag you out of the mud. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

I was at the cliffs last year and saw A guy with an 04 scrammy with a front winch mounted behind the front bumper. It looked sweet. I asked were he got it and he gave me the address, but when I got home the address must have been a little off and I never found it So I do believe they make one, its just finding it thats the hard part!

there is a front bumper for the scrambler that allows you to mount a winch to it. do a search on ebay. I think they quit making them in 2003 but I was able to find one at a dealer that had been sitting on the shelf. check out my pictures and you can see what the factory setup looks like, I got the 2000lb one with the upgrade kit that makes it a 2500 lb one. It really works well and doesn't look too bad. hope this helps!
