Flywheel on a sp700

Default Flywheel on a sp700

Can someone please tell me the trick for getting a flywheel off on my 02 700.I used a gear puller but didnt want to pull to hard on the flywheel.Is there another type pull that needs to be used.Im trying to get the starter gear off.Thanks

Default Flywheel on a sp700

The kinda puller I use pushs against the shaft and pulls on the flywheel its called a harmonic balancer puller. Your flywheel should have 3 bolt holes in it that is threaded you need a puller that looks like this. It will be on there pretty good I usually use an impact on it to break it loose. I took a flywheel off a 500 yesterday.

Thanks sportsman.The guy across the street had a puller just like the one your talking about it came right off.The kind I was useing went on the outside of the flywheel .I didnt want to bend or brake the flywheel.I know its alot easyer when your useing the right tools.Thanks
