My cousin has a sportsman 500 H.O., and it is time to change the belt. I was wondering if anyone could give me some step by steps on how i would go about doing this. The farthest i have been into a polaris clutch is to change the primary spring on my scrambler. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello take the 4 bolts out of the floorboard so you can pull it back some. Next take all the bolts around the clutch cover out & pull it off. Grab the belt in the middle and pull up so you have slack in it & roll it off the secondary. To put it on put it on the primary and on top of the secondary and roll it on.

Yep, he got ya taken care of. I always take off the entire floor board rather than pulling it back, but I've never tried to just pull it back. Iknow what I'll try next time to make it faster.
