Hey, good news, drove about 40 minutes for a great deal on a 2005 Ram 1500. It was only a little more for a Ram with some great features, so we went with that. If I can get my old ramps bent back into shape I will see if the Sportsman fits ok in that.
They had some 8 foot beds, but we ended up going with a 6.25 because they had a nice truck in SWB, and I am on a driver's permit, and when I do drive it, I don't want to worry about driving such a huge vehicle. Other than that the truck is great, this one has the 3.53 gears, so it doesnt feel as powerful as the one with 3.92's we drove yesterday. The 3.92's come with the 20 inch wheels, and although they looked a lot better, they really aren't the right choice for off-pavement driving on a regular basis (our camp is on a long, rough dirt road). Plus the 2 grand the chrome wheels cost went into a very nice interior instead. For the same price, this one had leather, satellite radio, and 7 speaker stereo. I love this truck.

Oh thanks MW, I was looking for a good forum. We're going to get a spray-in bedliner done this coming week so it will be all set. Also, it said not to pull a trailer for the first 500 miles on it, so I'm gonna wait before pulling the (light) snowmobile trailer with it. I know that the manuals always say that, but I am paranoid . I won't let anyone touch the outside because it leaves big handprints on it .
