I am going to buy a predator here in a couple of weeks and I have the option of getting it tax free. I live in El Paso, TX and have the option to make a 20 minute drive to our neighboring city Las Cruces, NM.
The dealer offered me in Las Cruces the 2005 STD Predator for $5600 OTD. Is this a good price or should I try to get them to throw in a helmet too? Also, I am going to be mostly doing duning with some dirt trails (no Woods) I live the middle od the desert. I am thinking that the Troy Lee Edition would have me shifting gears to much and would be unecessary for me since I won't be racing very often.....so is the troy lee necessary?

The biggest incentive for getting the TLD is the shock package. It also has better tires, but you'll probably be getting paddles. I would spend the extra $200 just for the shocks, but in your situation the standard edition is going to work great. $5600 OTD is a very good price.
