Sometime this summer, I would like to get a 4wd to go with my V-force. I like the 500 class due to their fuel economy and adequate power. Right now I am interested in the new 500 honda foreman and the 500 polaris sportsman. The price might push me toward the foreman. The Polaris seems to have more features, but if I'm gonna spend that much, I am too close to the Prairie and Brute. I haven't negotiated with any Polaris dealers yet, but I know I can get the Honda for $5799.00. I think the Polaris lists for $6799.00 I started out really stoked over the Suzuki KQ, but after reading about the reverse issue, I am pretty discouraged. You can get them locally for around $6800.00. I might still check out the 650 Brute, but I can not imagine having two V-twins with gas approaching $2.50/gallon. Maybe the 4wd models are not as bad as the twin-piped V. Just the sound of the pipes keeps your right thumb bottomed out a little too much Anyway, what do you guys think about the midrange 4wds?

 

I think you can get a 500 HO for a little less than that, but as far as comparing it to the honda, they are too different machines. The Honda is a stiff, rough riding, barebones, workhorse. If your puttin around, pullin trailers, and checking fences, maybe, but they are like rideing a 2x6 plank down a rocky trail. The Polaris has many more features, is bigger, more comfortable, and rides ten times better. It will work with the best of them, and you want have to visit the chiropractor every time you ride.

 

Thanks Bama. I will take a hard look at the Polaris. I was concerned with the rough ride of the honda. I used to own a 400 foreman.
