Default Tuning in the primary

I have a question about primary springs. I had tried a couple different springs today the Dalton orange/blue 25/167 and the HPD plain 55/216. The HPD engauged a little higher than I like but was close to my shift out rpms at 6100 rpm's. The Dalton orange/blue engauged just right but my shift out rpm's are a little to low 5700 to 5800 rpm's. Are the any springs that have a rate of 25/200 or somthing like that? Also can you put shims behind the spring to give it a little more shift rate? Thanks

One washer (1gr) out of the heelclicker clutch weight should be good for ~200 rpm. I have seen shims, but I'm not sure where you get them. Just don't stack too many that you get coil bind on full shift. What is engagement rpm like with the HPD plain?

If you do the math on shimming the Dalton spring, you'll end up with the same engagement as the HPD plain by the time you get it to 200 lbs. Shimming the EPI maroon spring may give you the results you're looking for. Shims stacked to give you .045" should get you to 30/200 at 2.5" and 1.25" with the EPI maroon (PATV-10).

Yea I was looking at the EPI maroon spring earlier today and was thing the same thing. Right now I have the orange/blue spring in with one shim I made yesterday take off seems good but my rpm's are at 5700 to 5800 at full shift out and I would like to get a little closer to 6000 rpm's. I made a thicker washer and it takes off at 2500 rpm's and thats to high for me right now my take off is around 2000 rpm's and I can live with that. My heel clicker weights are setup with 1.2s 4.3c 3.3t and a total of 61.7 grams a piece on my scale.

The HPD plain engauged around 2500 to 2600 rpm's and shifted out with the rpm's at 6000. I doubt I will ever use it again.

That's alot higher than I would have thought based on the published spring rates. I must have been having a senior moment when I calculated the shim stack. It shold be .222" inches to get to 30/200.
