Default top end rebuild

Recently got done rebuilding the top end of my 94 sport 400. (new wiseco piston and rings, .060 bore, .003 clearance)
I noticed that there is a constant ticking sound coming from the cylinder. Is this because the rings havent set or worn in yet?
What is the best way to break it in?
Any help would be appreciated...

I resently put the topend in my friend 99 400 sport and never heard a ticking sound. I put a Wiseco piston .060 bored. He broke it in with a light trail ride.

umm,no the rattle sound come from the .060 over piston wich
will knock a little stronger at idle but, that fine, they do sound as
the same after some boring, remember to spray after run- oil while
some rides then it should help reduce discharmonic orchestra.

Mine makes a clicking noise stock and was told a Wiseco does even more so.

Vary the throttle , short runs cool down run again with no WOT runs.
Check jug bolts for torque.

How long until being able to give it WOT? 1 or 2 tanks of gas?

I recently read in a mag that you should ride at 1/4 throttle for 10 min increments, let it cool, and repeat at least 6 times, then change the oil, do it 6 times more, rechange the oil and then give it hell! Sounds like overkill to me but could be worth the trouble!
