Default Can we solve the starter problems!?

This is no doubt the biggest problem with the Polaris ATV's. Being new to the scene and not liking to spend $100 a pop on starters...is there an aftermarket product or home made cover or something of that nature to seal this starter and make it last longer than if it were exposed to the elements?

Polaris starters really are not a problem. There is a drain at the bottom of the starter that you must drain if you have been in water or deep mud. If you dont then yes you will have problems. Water will sit in the starter and corrode all the brushes and the bendix. I do a lot of mudding and never had to replace a starter.
