Another Scam
oondaddy,
At least you got a response I told him I lived 20 minutes away in cali and I was ready to come get it cash in hand.
No reply. Oh well I guess I can't get scammed today. I lnow your buddy got hit. it would be interesting to get some figures on how many people this happens too. I have seen a couple news programs were people thought they were buying cars and got nailed. One guy sent 50,000 for a bmw M5. Now that would hurt!
brhargr,
He wants money not e-mail addresses. 3200 a pop will go alot farther than a few e-mail addresses.

i'm glad you posted this topic. i for one, am not familiar with this type of scam. you should notify ATVTrader of the fraud taking place before someone gets cheated out of their hard-earned $.
BTW, if you could make-out the plate # on that white van in the driveway i'm sure they could be pinpointed. if anyone can make it out, please post it.

Ebay is LOADED with these type of scams. It has been going on for years. Believe it or not, they do get people to fall for them - all they need is one. It is human nature to believe you are actually getting the better of someone who may not know better. On Ebay they actually hijack ID's of people who have outstanding feedback to make it more beleiveable. Check out the Ebay Motors Forums. That is where I have read a lot about what is done - and how it is done. It is too big of a problem - so Ebay just looks the other way (ATV Trader too). The poor English in the response is another tipoff.
Check for high end Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, etc, etc.. You will find endless scams.
mtpockets - unfortunately the plate number will do no good - I am sure that photo is copied from a legit auction that took place at one time or another. Not to mention, the auction and sale sites don't really care anyway.

Another Scam
Did anyone see the www.online-atv-shopping.com site, they would sell you new atvs for about $3000 and ship them for $110. They said they were in Spain but the phone number rang a place in Romania, what a scam. They hung up on me and when I said I could have a friend pick it up and they didn't reply. Then a few people started asking Q's and the site dissapeared!
