What will give my 500 HO better throttle response & NOT void my warranty?
#1
I'm used to 400 2-strokes and the 500 is nice but to me it just doesn't quite have the instant power of the 2-strokes. I might be imagining this...but what mods would help throttle response and get the engine wound up quicker?

I would start with a clutch kit(I like HPD), and then get a pipe and the HPD airbox mod. This includes the jet kit for the carb and does wonders for throttle response. As far as voiding your warranty you would have to check with your dealership. I just waited till mine was broke in and then added the mods. If something is going to go bad with the motor usualy it will be right away. If everything is fine after break in then just take good care of it with checking oil, gearcase fluid, trany fluid, ect.. before each ride. Unless you ride it almost every day than maybe once every other week.

If you want o keep your motor stock and not void your warrante get you a TEAM roller secondary and a white or green primary spring. The TEAM cuts all the resistance in your clutch where you dont loose any power and make shifts instant.

What's in the clutch kits and how difficult are they to install. (I'm mechanically inclined and have a garage full of Snap-On at my disposal. I can't rebuild automatic transmissions but I don't flinch about engine swaps.) What's in the TEAM roller?

The stock secondary uses buttons and a helix that rides on them. Its basicly metal to metal for shifting in the secondary. A roller secondary uses rollers and a different shaped helix to shift very efficiently. As for installing them its very simple. there is instructions for a regular clutch kit in my pictures. If you get a team roller it comes assembled and you just have to replace the old secondary with the new one.
