help 95 polaris sportsman 400 4x4 help

Default help 95 polaris sportsman 400 4x4 help

i have a 95 polaris sportsman 400 4x4 it will fire up for like 10 seconds go to rev it up it dies so i have been going on with this for like 2 mounths so i need help right away thank you [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

Has the carb been off and had the jets cleaned out?

yes the carb and jests are all cleaned out

check and adjust the ETC. more than likely it's out of adjustment if you hit the throttle and it just dies.

also, take-off your seat and check the vent by the gas tank to be sure that little foam block isn't blocking the end of the tube. (very common problem)

I had a problem with my 95 Xplorer 4x4 where the carb breather tubes were routed over the frame under the seat. whenever you sat on the seat, it would pinch off the tubes and cause the engine to die intermittently.

my old '95 sportsman 400 did that too for a lil bit, it was the carb, from being so old and sittin a long period of time it was pretty dirty and beaten, the gas got dirty and the lines from the carb were built up wit crap, the needle couldnt open or sit all the way, i forget which, and it wouldnt take throttle, Id clean all ur lines and flush the carb, its time consuming but will prob fix ur prob
