What silencer for 330 Trailboss?
Hey guys,
My Trail Boss thanks you for the compliments.
2manytoys, Yes I have the White Brothers E-Series slip on. It is modified to be a slip on by RCR. I have all the disks in it and it is loud. It has the Forest Service approved spark arrestor. I bet it is at the decible limit for most ORV parks.
To be honest the shop installed it the same time they installed the primary spring, carb. jet, and K&N with vents. So I can't say how much the pipe helped. With this set up it goes very well.
I read here somewhere that the stock pipe is just as good as the slip on if you have the other things mentioned above. That is, if you Jet, vent with K&N, and spring it you would be hard pressed to tell a dif. with either pipe as they said the stock has plenty of flow to spare. I don't know. It sounds good and I'm sure RCR will tell you the true comp. at ranges between the two. The slip on does complete the tried and true RCR Stage One Kit. Without it, you may have to mess to balance the other mods.?
BTW, they did add 2 layers of extra heat shield tape to the side panel by the slip on/stock pipe for good measure. They cut the stock pipe to place the disks just past the fender but short of the grab bar for protection. It was new and they (dealer) said if they did the work my warranty would still be good.
I like it.

What silencer for 330 Trailboss?
I have the White Bros E pipe on my 04 TB 330 (from rick). I removed 6 of the 12 discs and found that it made the quad quieter (but far from quiet) with no loss, and possibly an increase in performance. After trying the Black-white stripe primary spring supplied by Rick, I swapped it out for the EPI pink primary spring which I like a little better.

Out of all the springs that I have tried and I have tried alot, I think the EPI pink and maroon work the best. Lukester let me know how those tires work out. Let me know how it moves, gain in top speed, mud etc... I know the Magnum has 25" tires but I dont know what clutch setup it has to move that big of a tire.
