Sport 400 engine question
do you have a clutch puller? you can either buy one or make one. you will need a 3/4 inch fine thread peice of all thread or a bolt. I used a trailor ball and an extension inside the clutch housing to get mine off. I had to grind the trailor ball so that I could get a two inch wrench to fit on the end.
If your not in a hurry a puller would be the way to go. I spent atleast the same amount on the stuff I used to get my clutch off the only plus is that what I used was readily available.

In order to split the cases, to access the crank- you have to remove the crank gear and the slotted nut on top of it. which is left hand thread. Some times you can get away without removing the counterbalance at all. It may stay with the right side case
Hope this makes some sense
