Default 04 Sp700 EFI Belt and Clutch Kit Q?

I was thinking of a high proformance belt and clutch kit for my 04 SP700 EFI but have heard it doesnt make much of a difference/. Is this true by experience?

Is there any mods that do much for the EFI model?

O also I have 2 error codes on my bike.. Barometric Pressure Sensor and Air Temp Sensor fault????? wth is that?

Any help would be great

Thanks

Can't help you with the clutch but the codes I can. The baro/intake air temp sensor is located in the air intake tube just after the air box. I had the same codes setting on my '05. With mine I found the connector at the sensor was bad. Two of the wires had no continuity back to the ECM. I have heard that others have the same codes and have found the wires had rubbed through on the crankcase vent hose coming up to the air box.

Best and fastest way to test is check for continuity back to the ECM with an OHM meter. If you have no continuity on one or more wires I would open and inspect the entire harness for broken wires. If you find nothing obvious you probably have a bad connector like mine did.

Good luck. I'll check back on this thread later to see if you have found the problem.

Bugman, one more thing. I have heard of problems with aftermarket air filters and this sensor. It is not the filter itself but the oil used on the filter IE: K&N.

Thanks for the info.
I do indeed run a UNI pre filter oiled with K/N brand oil... I originally thought this to be the case due to the fact that the codes are intermitent not steady. One day I will have one code the next both or occasionally none.
As far as bad connector and or wires I will check and message back...

Thanks Again
Bug

Dont over oil the filter and you wont have a problem.

well no cracked wires and the plug looks good(at least as far as I can tell).

I ran the bike for a half hour without the K/N over filter, and still had the codes.?.

Hmm?

Still runs OK but shi**y gas mileage

I have had a K/N filter on my 04 700 EFI for about 60 miles now and NO problems.
