05 sportsman 700 clutch/exhuast mods?
I come to the infinately knowlegable people here with a question, a few actually.
1. I have heard of putting an 800 header on the 700 and getting a performance boost. Anyone have experience with this and if so, did you have to get 2 mufflers for it and will it route correctly and bolt up?
2. What muffler/silencer yeilds the best performance and has a good deep sound to it. I ride trails and enjoy agressive pipes that will give me some more low end torque and bit on the top too.
3. I am not content with the clutch engagement on the bike. I want more low end so I can get the front end off the ground, easier the better. Anyone with experience with the heelclicker or any other clutch settings would be great to hear from. Ok, I am finished opening that can of worms. I have read prior posts on the clutching, but am still as confused as when I started. I know there is no hands down winner or anything, I am not looking for a real technical answer on that either as far as engagement rpm and the like. Just point me in the right direction. As always, thank you all for your help and knowledge.

1. I have the 800 header on my 700 but I didn't install both mufflers and have not heard of anyone putting the duals on their 700. I got some good power from the header.
2. I just ordered a White Bros. for mine and have heard good things about it.
3. I have a heelcliker and have it tuned for good low end performance. If you order one go to here and get the cob discount. You can also find alot of stuff on the heelclicker there.

the part numbers for the Header pipe and the snorkel mods.
800 Head pipe MOD
Header pipe- 1261445-029 $74.99
(3)Heat shields- 5244014 $3.32* front on 700 same as rear on 800
5248703 $1.46
5248702 $1.46
Header to cylinder gasket- 5811511 $18.32* same
Header pipe to muffler seal- 3610047 $12.49* same (donut)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
800 AIRBOX SNORKLE MOD
Airduct/ snorkel- 5435932 $19.16
Airduct/ snorkel gasket- 5411422 $3.96* same
*Total for 800 mods (pipe and snorkel) w/ $5 S&H $102.07 (* w/o gaskets)
both of these mods can be done without replacing the gaskets/seals due to them being the same part number as stock 600/700/800 models are all the same part number. the 800 header mod without gaskets will cost $81.23 and the Airduct/ snorkel mod without the gasket is $19.16. It would make more sense to order the snorkel at the same time as the head pipe cause then you wouldn't have to pay any shipping due to it all being over $50.
Breese has the pipe/silencer kit for $275.
