Default OOPS!!! AWD question

This time I will actually ask the question. I have a 2004.5 SP 500. When it is in 2wd why does the awd kick in when the rear wheels slip.

Thanks

Ty

Yeah, the AWD will kick in whether the switch is in AWD or 2WD.

I would check the wiring and all, see if the switch is stuck open or on. Ive not had this problem as of yet.

My 700 was doing this. Dealer fixed by replacing the entire front gearcase under extended warrranty. You can try a fluid change and there is also a part that can be replaced as well. I think it is called a "cage" or something.

I am a Polaris Certified tech. Any one else having a problem like this should take it to dealer near you and have them look at it. if there is a problem like this it could need adjusted out but if it gets worse it could engage at the wrong time like when your on the gas in a corner in two wheel and the rear slips and it slips into awd like your prob. it could flip the atv and possiblly kill you. So please take it to a dealer and have it checked out . Any one in the springfield,mo area can contact me and i will do it for free or take it to Hobbytime motorsports in Bolivar or Surdykes in Marrionville
